Movie Review and such!

This movie recently popped up in my watch list on Netflix, and one night my boyfriend and I decided to give it a go since we've pretty much watched everything there is to watch on Netflix. The movie is called The Flowers of War. It's set in 1937 Nanking, China at the time of the Second Sino-Japanese War. A group of escapees, finding sanctuary in a church compound, an American mortician (Christian Bale) on a task to bury the head father of the convent schoolgirls, joined by the group of innocent schoolgirls and fourteen flamboyant prostitutes try to survive the plight and persecution brought on by the violent invasion of the city.

I thought the movie was very beautifully done, had a great story behind it, was sad yet moving, and the costumes were amazing. I've actually become slightly obsessed with cheongsam after I saw this film.

 All in all, I recommend seeing this movie. I took something away from it after seeing it that left me inspired in some form or another, and I hope it will do the same for you.

Oh January, where have you gone?

Hi all,

Whew! Where has January gone already? Lots has been going on in my life and it just seems like the time is flying right by me. I'm planning on doing my first giveaway once I reach 200 followers. So keep an eye out for that.

Then in March, we'll be going to our first ever Viva Las Vegas.

And other big news...My boyfriend and I have finally moved out of our tiny one bedroom apartments and got a 3 bedroom house together. Yay! I've been super excited about that and that's whats been taking up most of my time. But we moved in on January 1st, so Christmas was a little crazy for us with packing and such. We ended up going over to his mother's place on Christmas Eve since she always does these big parties. I wore a beautiful green with gold sequin dress I got off Esty from the 40s and he wore dress slacks and a 50s style shirt we thirfted.

Then once we moved in, it was my birthday right away.

We decided to do dinner and drinks, so I wore this vintage asain dress I got from Buffelo Exchange.
